From Anecdotal Knowledge to Evidence Based: The Future of Cannabis Research
Assistant Professor Dedi Meiri (Israel)

David (Dedi) Me Iri is Principal Investigator in the Laboratory of Cancer Biology and Cannabinoid Research at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology. He holds a M.Sc. in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in plant biotechnology.

Currently his lab investigates the therapeutic potential of phytocannabinoids. The main focus of his research is to determine the antitumor effects of Cannabinoids, including the anti-metastatic and pro-apoptotic effects. Other areas include cannabis treatment for colon disease, pain prevention, cancer treatment and epilepsy. He runs the the “Cannabis Database Project” and collaborates with other stakeholders for the purpose of revolutionising cannabis treatment.
